1. Apple Crumple
Although based off of an apple pie, it is neither a cake or pie. Typically, it consists of baked chopped apples topped with brown sugar, cinnamon, bread crumbs, or rolled oats. Combining the buttery taste of the crumble with the sour sweetness of the apple, each bite into this crispy dessert is pure deliciousness. Recipe: “Apple Crumble”(Food network Kitchen) 2. Red Velvet Cake This is thought to originate in the Victorian Era as a high-class dessert for fancy parties and noble guests. Unlike typical chocolate cakes, this cake uses vinegar to create a chemical reaction that results in its deep maroon color. Furthermore, it is topped with a layer of cream cheese frosting, my favorite part! Recipe: “Southern Red Velvet Cake” (Food Network) 3. Crème brûlée This dessert, which originated from France, is custard based topped with a layer of crunchy caramelized sugar. This sweet and creamy dessert is baked and then refrigerated to achieve a smooth, pudding texture. Sugar is caramelized at the top with a blow torch which complements the soft texture of the filling. While this dessert only requires 4 ingredients; cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla, the final outcome is ambrosial. Recipe: “How To Make Creme Brûlée”(Cooking Lessons from the Kitchen) 4. Chocolate Chip Cookie Stuffed Pretzels Pretzels are already so amazing but imagine them with chocolate chips inside of them. They are simple to make and can be molded into many shapes. The saltiness of the pretzel complements the softness of the cookies, creating the perfect combo. Remember that a cookie's softness depends on how long you bake it for. Pumpkin Cake Donuts In addition to being the circle of sugary happiness that we all already love, this type of donut hybrids with pumpkin breads to create a unique dessert. With its vibrant orange color and delightful pumpkin flavor, these donuts coated in sugar melt in your mouth. Recipe: “Pumpkin Cake Doughnuts”(King Arthur Flour)
